An area hospital will be closing.

According to a news release, Pinnacle Healthcare System, Inc., has elected to voluntarily close Pinnacle Regional Hospital in Boonville.

“Following further discussions with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MDHSS), it has been determined that the economic hardship of bringing the facility into compliance is too great to make the appropriate repairs necessary.”

So, effective at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, Pinnacle Regional Hospital in Boonville will cease all operations.  This includes all operations at the Rural Health Clinic, Outpatient Therapy Clinic and Emergency Department.

Staff members will be present in the Emergency Department for the next 14 days to provide assistance with any walk-in patients.
