A Slater woman who has been charged with a felony for allegedly abducting three children a few years ago has been extradited to Saline County.
According to the U.S. Marshals Office, in August 2017, Shawn Marie Rodriquez took her three children- all under the age of seven. The children’s father was granted full custody early in 2019, and they were officially listed by local authorities as missing in July 2019. On August 6, 2019, a warrant was issued for Rodriquez’s arrest in Saline County.
On October 17, deputy marshals and local task-force officers from the Northern District of Texas found Rodriquez and the three missing children at a home in Arlington, Texas. Rodriquez was arrested.
Rodriquez has been charged with a Class B Felony for Parental Kidnapping by Detaining and/or Concealing the Whereabouts of the Children for at least 120 Days; and a misdemeanor for violation of education requirements for a child. The court originally ordered no bond. However, bond was amended to $15,000 cash or surety on March 12, and she posted surety bond on March 20.
Rodriquez was arraigned on March 2. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at Saline County Circuit Court.
