An inmate at an area jail is facing an additional felony charge for allegedly being in possession of a weapon.
According to a probable-cause statement, on September 22, 2019, a deputy at the Pettis County Jail observed Michael Carpenter rub an object against a door via video camera. The deputy instructed Carpenter to stop what he was doing and hand over the item. The item in question was identified as a toothbrush, which was sharpened on both sides to make a knife.
Carpenter, of Sedalia, has been charged with a Class B Felony for Possession of a Weapon at a County Jail.
Carpenter’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
