An Independence man has been charged with a felony for allegedly not returning rented equipment in Saline County.
According to a probable-cause statement, a manager at LaCrosse Lumber in Marshall contacted the police department on March 2 and reported a subject failed to return rental property to the business. The manager reported Jeremy Ace Woods rented a Dingo- valued at $22,313.99; and a Dingo Auger- valued at $4,402.08 on December 23, 2019. The one-month agreement was for $2,400. The manager said the equipment was never returned, and the rental fee was never received.
A warrant has been issued, and Woods has been charged with a Class C Felony for Stealing of $25,000 or More. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for Woods is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
