A Marshall man already in jail has been charged with more felonies for allegedly attempting to tamper with a witness.
According to a probable cause statement, on April 7, a victim’s advocate (VA) contacted the Saline County Sheriff’s Office regarding an alleged victim of a domestic assault by the suspect Dvanta Randle. The VA indicated the alleged victim was being contacted by Randle to try to get her to change her statement so the charges against him will be dropped, and he will be released from jail.
The alleged victim admitted to authorities that she had been contacted by Randle. Monitored phone calls reportedly corroborated the allegations made by the VA.
Randle is facing a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree; a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree; and a misdemeanor for property damage in the original case for an incident on April 2. Bond in that case has been set at $20,000 cash only.
New charges are two counts of a Class D Felony for Tampering or Attempt to Tamper with a Witness in a Felony Prosecution. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only.
Randle was arraigned on the new charges on Friday, April 17. His next court proceeding is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, at Saline County Circuit Court.
