A New Franklin man has been charged with multiple felonies after an incident on Thursday, April 23.
According to a police report, an officer was dispatched to a trailer on East Broadway. Michael Patrick King went to the trailer and allegedly threatened to kill people. During the incident, King attempted to kick open the front door; hit the door with a two-foot-long steel pipe; threw the metal pipe at a resident; wielded a knife toward the resident; and at one time lifted his shirt and began to remove a black handgun from the front of his pants. The man whom he was threatening had his infant child inside the trailer. King told authorities he was mad because of a drug deal. He said the victim owed him money and got him fired from his lawn care job.
Bond has been set at $20,000 cash, and King has been charged with three counts of a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.
King’s initial arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at Howard County Circuit Court.
