Several school board races are going to be decided during the Municipal Election on Tuesday, June 2, in Howard County.
Four persons are running for three seats on the New Franklin R-1 School Board: Jeff Chitwood, Sam Hackman, Jud Evans and Dan Dobson.
Five candidates are on the ballot for three seats on the Glasgow School Board: David McKenzie, Kent Sanders, Chad Fuemmeler, Tamara Monnig and Lee Ann Lawson.
Candidates for three seats on the Fayette R-3 School Board are Shauna M. Young, Larry Anderson, Sarah Wies and Stuart-Bentley.
Three candidates have signed up to run for three seats on the Harrisburg R-8 School Board: Kathleen VanRoekel, Scott Eaton and Heidi DeMuth.
On the ballot for three seats on the Higbee R-8 School Board are: Morgan Rockett, Ernie Boggs Jr., Robert L. Clark Jr. and Susan Ware.
There are six candidates for three seats on the Salisbury R-4 School Board: Deborah Edwards Andrea Binder, Dustin Aaron Bachtel, Russ Standebeck, Jearmy McCubbins and Donald LeRoy Wyatt.
With the resignation of Greg Stidham at the end of April, Grafton Cook has been serving as interim Mayor of Fayette. Two candidates are on the ballot for the two-year term: Stephanie Ford and Kevin R. Oeth. Nobody filed to run for the seat as East Ward Aldermen; Marc Wells and Hope Smith are running unopposed in their wards.
Harley Owen is the only candidate for Mayor of the city of Armstrong; nobody filed to run for East Alderman; and Korey Wood is running unopposed for West Alderman.
Jason Wright is the only candidate on the ballot for Mayor of the city of Glasgow; Erica A. Monnig, Renna Bean and Joseph Gibbs are running unopposed for aldermen in their wards.
In the city of Franklin, Tammie Hundley-Wilkerson and Shay Young are running for Ward 1 Alderperson; Timothy Paul Hines is running unopposed for Ward 2 Alderman.
In New Franklin, Tyler Eaton and Sylvia Durbin are vying for Ward 1 Alderperson; nobody filed to run for Alderman Ward 2; and Todd W. Baslee is running unopposed for Alderman Ward 3.
The city of New Franklin is asking voters to approve raising its tax levy to 34.82 cents per $100 of real and personal property.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
