The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened when the eastbound vehicle driven by 17-year-old Austin Duffey of Holden, traveled off the road and struck a mailbox.
Duffey sustained moderate injuries and was transported to St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City by Johnson County Ambulance for treatment.
The crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. on Route VV, just east of SW 871 Road.
