Three new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Lafayette County on Wednesday.
According to Lafayette County Health Department Director Tom Emerson, as of Wednesday afternoon, there are now 162 cases of COVID-19 that have been confirmed in the county since the start of the pandemic. With 129 persons released from observation and a total of three deaths , there are now 30 active cases in the county.
Just over 10 percent of the county’s population had been tested at that point.
Residents are encouraged to wear a mask when in public and continue social distancing and proper hand hygiene.
