Confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in several counties in the KMMO listening area.
According to information from health officials on Wednesday, August 5, in Saline County, the total has increased to 419- up two from the day before. Officials say 362 patients have recovered and seven persons have died, leaving 50 active cases, including two hospitalized.
Three new positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Lafayette County on Wednesday. That makes 162 positive cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. With 129 persons released from observation and three deaths, there are 30 active cases.
Cooper County’s total increased by two positive cases on Wednesday to 120 since the beginning of the pandemic. Since 76 positive patients have recovered, there are 44 active cases in the county, including one hospitalized.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by five on Wednesday to 440 in Pettis County. With 336 recoveries and four deaths, there are 100 active cases, including eight persons hospitalized.
Updates were not available from Carroll, Chariton and Howard Counties on Wednesday.
As of Tuesday, August 4, in Carroll County, the total number of positive cases is 86. With 83 persons recovered, there are three active cases in the county.
There was one additional positive case of COVID-19 confirmed in Chariton County on Tuesday, bringing the total to 18. With 13 persons listed as recovered, there are five active cases in the county.
One more positive case was confirmed in Howard County, bringing the total to 46. Thirty-four patients have recovered, leaving 12 active cases in the county.
