A 47-year-old Cole Camp man has been charged with a couple of felonies after a traffic stop on August 10 in Pettis County.

According to a Sedalia Police report, while speaking with the driver, an officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

Another officer was told to get the passenger, Alan Wayne Savage II out of the vehicle. The officer asked Savage if he had anything illegal on him, and Savage started to pull away from the officer. The other officer said Wayne threw his drink on the officer in an attempt to get away. Savage was able to get free and was Tazed a short distance away. And while attempting to get handcuffs on Savage, he continued to roll and move his hands, making it difficult to do so. After securing Savage, officers found a used syringe and a plastic bag containing a crystal substance recognized as methamphetamine.

Savage has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest. Savage posted $10,000 surety bond on August 13.

Savage is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
