The family of a woman who died from injuries she sustained after beings struck down by a hit and run driver will have to wait until next month before the accused driver makes another appearance in court.

During the evening of June 16, the Centralia Police Department, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated a motor vehicle crash where 74-year-old Sharon Uebinger of Centralia had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene after striking her. The driver of the vehicle was later identified as 36-year-old Amy Rievley of Glasgow.

Later that evening, Rievley was located and stopped by a Howard County Sheriff’s deputy. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified and the Trooper observed damage to the front right side of the vehicle and what appeared to be fresh blood and skin in the damaged area. She admitted to being in the Centralia area but denied being involved in an accident. Rievley was taken into custody and transported to the Boone County Jail.

Rievley is charged with a Class A Felony for Murder in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony for DWI Resulting in the Death of Another and a Class D Felony for Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death. Due to the severity of the charges, Rievley continues to be held without bond.

A Preliminary Hearing in this case is has been continued and is set to be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 24 at Boone County Circuit Court.
