Even with the Mask Mandate that went into effect last week in Pettis County, there has been a huge spike in the number of cases that has been reported. In one week there were 116 new cases of the virus confirmed. This also has to do with the fact that more testing is being conducted.
Since Monday, there has been an increase of 38 new cases in the county. There were 15 new cases confirmed on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 665, which is the largest number of cases that have been confirmed in any individual county in the KMMO listening area.
According to the Pettis County Health Department out of the 665 confirmed cases, 534 persons have been released from observation, 126 remain active and four people remain hospitalized.
