More than 3,000 positive COVID-19 cases have been added to the state’s total in the last two days.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, as of 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, the total number of positive cases was 93,434 since the beginning of the pandemic- up from 90,215 on Friday, September 4.

Due to a reporting error, the number of COVID-19-related deaths were undercounted heading into the weekend, so the updated number is 1,658- up 96 from 1,562 that was last reported on Friday. DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.

DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 7.
