Born June 8, 1938 in Higginsville, she was the daughter of the late William Czeschin and Edith Hader Czeschin. She grew up in the northeast area of Kansas City, MO and graduated in the top of her class from Northeast High School in 1956. During high school Coradean played the clarinet and was on the synchronized swimming team. She graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO in 1960 where she majored in mathematics and education. While at Missouri Valley, Coradean was set up on a blind date with a man named Cecil Naylor. The two were married on Wednesday, August 9, 1961 and though Wednesday was an unusual day for a wedding, Cecil had to get back for football practice. Cecil preceded her in death on January 22, 2003.
Coradean taught algebra, geometry and math analysis (calculus) at Marshall High School and served as head of the mathematics department before retiring in 1997. She would always remind everyone that “numbers are your friends!” The title she wore proudest was that of “football coach’s wife” and in Cecil’s 35 year tenure as Marshall High School’s head football coach, she only missed two games. She would be found at the games sporting her red and black attire along with her football bracelet with the coveted footballs signifying various titles the team won.
Coradean was a longtime member of First Christian Church where she attended early worship and then to McDonald’s for breakfast with her church friends. She enjoyed researching genealogy and traveling. Coradean also cherished the once a month trips and annual Christmas exchange with her retired teacher friends, as well as walking with some of them daily at the YMCA.
Survivors include two children, Denise Naylor Dickerson (Mark) of Prairie Village, KS and Kyle Naylor (Anna) of Lake County, CA; two grandchildren, Jon Henry Naylor of Marshall, and Crosslee Naylor, of Virginia; one brother, William Czeschin (Mary) and their children, Amy, Sarah and Russell.
