Two additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in an area county on Friday, October 16.
Health-department officials in Pettis County say the total of deaths is now 24. In all, the positive case count grew by 83 from Thursday, October 15, to 1,500 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 1,096 positive patients recovered and 24 deaths, there are 380 active cases, including 14 positive patients hospitalized.
One more death was reported in Saline County, raising its total to 13. Six new positive cases were added, raising the total to 938. With 852 positive patients recovered and 13 deaths, there are 73 active cases, including seven positive patients hospitalized.
Five more COVID-19-related deaths were added in Lafayette County on Friday from the last report on Monday, October 12, raising its total to 25. The number of positive cases has increased to 724- up by 42 from 682 on Monday. With 25 deaths and 543 recoveries, 156 active cases remain.
The numbers of new cases by location since that information was reported last Friday, October 9, are: Bates City- 3; Concordia- 8; Corder- 2; Higginsville- 29; Lexington- 3; Odessa- 10; Waverly- 2; Wellington- 3; Lutheran Good Shepherd Home- 1; and Meyer Care Center- 3.
In Howard County, nine new positive cases were added, raising its total to 385. Due to 338 positive patients recovered and one death, there are 46 active cases, including one person hospitalized.
Six new positive cases were added in Carroll County, increasing its total to 187. With 162 positive patients recovered and five deaths, there are 20 active cases, including four persons hospitalized.
