A suspect is in custody after a stabbing on October 8 in Pettis County.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, officers responded to American Inn at 1217 South Limit Avenue in reference to a subject who had been stabbed. The suspect had fled the scene, however witnesses were interviewed and the scene was processed.

On October 13, detectives interviewed the victim and were provided with more information. Through further investigation, the suspect was identified.

On Friday, October 16, the suspect was arrested at his place of employment. He is being held with charges of Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action being sought by law enforcement.

Per KMMO policy, the suspect’s name will not be released until formal charges are filed.
