
A 20-year-old Arkansas resident has been charged with multiple felonies in Linn County.
According to a Brookfield Police report, on October 19, dispatch advised that a vehicle was stolen from Casey’s in Brookfield. The officer contacted the victim, and she said she left her vehicle unlocked and went inside the store. The woman advised she observed a black male walk toward her vehicle, and she went outside. The victim advised the male entered her vehicle, and she opened the door and told male to “get out.” The male backed up, and she grabbed the door and told him to “get out” again. The victim advised to male backed up the vehicle and left the area. She said the male never touched her.
The victim said she had a purse that contained a billfold, several credit cards and a cell phone inside the vehicle. The vehicle was traced to be in the Hiawatha, Kansas, area and Travis Quarddius Moten was the driver. He was later identified by the victim via surveillance video and photos.
Moten has been charged with Class D Felonies for Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and Stealing All Other Property. Bond has not been set yet.
Moten’s initial hearing is pending at Linn County Circuit Court.
