One more COVID-19-related death and numerous more positive COVID-19 cases were reported in area counties on Friday, November 6.

According to health-department officials, the death was reported in Lafayette County, raising its total to 28 since the beginning of the pandemic. Ninety-one new positive cases were added to the county’s total since Monday, November 2, bringing the county’s total to 1,035. With 725 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered and 28 deaths, there are 282 active cases.

The biggest jump in an area county in positive cases in one day was Pettis County, as it added 102 positive cases on Friday from Thursday, making its total 2,268. With 1,505 positive patients recovered and 28 deaths, there are 735 active cases, including 20 positive patients hospitalized.

Twenty-three new positive cases were added in Chariton County on Friday, raising its total to 205. With 112 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered, 93 cases are active.

Since Tuesday, Carroll County saw a rise in positive cases of 50 from 291 to 341. With 262 positive patients recovered and eight deaths, there are 71 active cases, including four positive patients hospitalized.

In Howard County, 22 new positive cases were added on Thursday and Friday, increasing its total to 511. With 484 positive patients recovered and one death, there are 36 active cases.

Updates were not available from Saline and Cooper Counties.
