The Higginsville Board of Aldermen was asked to approve an intergovernmental agreement with the Higginsville Special Road District during its meeting on Monday, November 16.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson explains it’s a brand new agreement.

Dobson said the first-year cost to the city will be $15,000. She said the agreement will be reevaluated before possible approval next year.

In other news, Dobson said the council approved the mayor’s appointment of Sarah Collins as acting city collector until a new collector can be hired.

Dobson also noted the beginning date to file to run for Board of Aldermen seats is Tuesday, December 15. Filings will be accepted during regular business hours until the close of business on Tuesday, January 15, 2021. She said the seats currently held by Scott Rhoad in Ward 1, Beau Linebach in Ward 2 and Stanton Thompson in Ward 3 are available during the Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
