A triple-digit increase in positive COVID-19 cases and more COVID-19-related deaths were reported in an area county on Friday, November 20.

According to health-department officials, in Lafayette County, 122 new positive cases were added since its last update on November 13. That brings the total to 1,303 positive cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. Two more deaths raise its total to 30. With 960 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered, that leaves 313 active cases in the county.

One more COVID-19-related death and 46 new positive cases were reported in Carroll County since its last update on Tuesday, November 17. With 407 recoveries and nine deaths, 59 of the 475 total positive cases remain active.

Howard County reported 24 new positive cases over the last two days, raising its total to 671. With 606 recoveries and one death, there are 64 active cases.

Nineteen more positive cases were added in Pettis County, upping its total to 2,997. With 1,917 positive patients recovered and 30 deaths, there are 1,050 active cases, including 27 persons hospitalized.

In Saline County, 15 new positive cases were reported on Friday, increasing its total to 1,593. Due to 1,337 recoveries- including 40 on Friday- and 17 deaths, the active case count has decreased to 239.

Nine new positive cases were confirmed in Chariton County, raising its total to 393. With 271 recoveries, there are 122 active cases.

An update was not available from Cooper County.
