
Margaret May Copeland, 99, of Marshall, MO, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Pam Sebastian officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Face masks will be required at all services and social distancing will be observed. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church or Big Bend Retreat. Born April 6, 1921, in Howard County, MO, she was the daughter of the late John Herbert Copeland and Myra Wenger Copeland. She was raised in Saline County and received her elementary education at Bates School, District 19 north of Marshall. She graduated from Miami High School in Miami, MO and from Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO. From September 1940 to January 1969 she was employed as secretary and underwriter at the Chicago office of the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland. In January of 1969, she returned to Marshall where she was employed by the Division of Family Services from June of 1969 until her retirement in November of 1982. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marshall and the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees.
Margaret is survived by several cousins including, Myra Jane Copeland, Lois Castle, Elaine “Peggy” Moore, Nadine Staub, Iola Staub and Anita Copeland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Copeland.
