
Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 15,425 deer during the antlerless portion of the firearms deer season, December 4-6.
MDC says top harvest counties were Callaway with 438 deer harvested, Morgan with 377 and Osage with 352.
The top counties in the immediate KMMO listening area were Cooper with 213 antlerless deer harvested, Howard with 209 and Carroll with 195. In Pettis County, 162 anterless deer were harvested, followed by Chariton with 134, Saline with 131 and Lafayette with 69.
Last year’s antlerless-portion harvest total was 10,597.
Archery deer season runs through January 15, 2021. The alternative methods portion runs December 26 through January 5, 2021.
