During the meeting of the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force meeting on Monday, December 28, the Pettis County Health Center reported an increase of 189 new cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in the last week. This brings the county total to 4,077 total cases compared to 3,908 the previous week.

The number of people being tested during the holidays seems to have decreased in Pettis County but, the need for testing continues.   Testing is available without cost in at some locations throughout the community.

According to the Health Center, most of Missouri allotment of the Moderna vaccine is being directed to long term care facilities.  Immunizations in the Pettis County community will be provided through Walgreens.  The Health Center is an approved vaccination site and will be ordering vaccine as soon as the state moves to vaccinating those in the 1B category. The Health Center is asking everyone to be patient as it sets up schedules for immunizations in the order of the guidelines for those most at risk.   The immunization plan will be by appointment as the process begins.
