Railroad crossing maintenance will shut down an area roadway.

According to the City of Sedalia, Union Pacific will be completing maintenance on the crossing on N. Engineer Ave. south of E. Howard St. and north of E. Third St. on Tuesday, January 12.

This work will require N. Engineer Ave. to be closed to through traffic between E. Howard St. and E. Third St. Drivers will need to find an alternate route to their destination during this period as Union Pacific makes improvements to the crossing.

The nearest roadways allowing crossing of the UP rail line from the N. Engineer job site are to the west N. Washington Ave. and to the east N. Emmett Ave.

The work is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
