A 21-year-old Sedalia woman has been placed on probation after pleading guilty in court to a couple of felonies.

Authorities were called to the scene of a reported disturbance on July, 22, 2020 in the 300 block of W. 4th Street. According to the Sedalia Police Department, when officers arrived they heard screaming coming from an apartment. A woman attempted to keep authorities from entering the apartment, but they were able gain access. Lae’Loni Johnson was immediately taken into custody. Another woman said that Johnson had choked her until she couldn’t breathe while she was holding her baby. The alleged victim also said Johnson refused to let her leave and threatened to kill her and her baby if she attempted to do so.

On January 4, 2021 Johnson plead guilty to Class D Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and Tamper or Attempt to Tamper with a Victim in a Felony Prosecution. Johnson was sentence to 5-years probation.
