An area school board is asking for input from the district’s patrons regarding student learning for the foreseeable future.

A release from Marshall Public Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says, “Marshall Public Schools exists for the betterment and welfare of MPS students, who are the future of our community. Our decisions are made with the students in the forefront, and we believe parents, families, MPS employees and community members should have a significant voice in the district’s decision-making process.”

The release continues with, “In an endeavor to be collaborative and inclusive, the MPS Board of Education and administration will survey students, parents, employees and community members on their preference for student learning options during the remainder of the COVID pandemic. Simply put: During the COVID crisis (regardless of the rate of spread of the virus) should all MPS students be physically in their seats, at school, four days a week?”

Wednesdays will remain a distance-learning day for all and a deep-cleaning opportunity for district employees.

The survey is available on the MPS website marshallschools.com or a Facebook page and through an MPS e-mail link. There will be one vote per e-mail, and it is anonymous. The survey will close at 4 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, and the results given to the MPS Board of Education.
