Jason D. Higgins, 41, of rural Houstonia, MO, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, at LaMonte Christian Church in LaMonte, MO, with Pastors Fran Schmidt and Alan Morse officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia, MO. Burial with military rites will be in Houstonia Cemetery. Face masks are required at all services and social distancing will be observed. Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or Show-Me Christian Youth Home. Born September 21, 1979, in Sedalia, MO, he was the son of Frank D. Higgins and Cristina Mae Wilson Higgins who survive of rural Houstonia. He lived in the Houstonia area most of his life and was a 1997 graduate of Sweet Springs R-7 High School. He married Jennifer Kiesling who survives. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as deputy sheriff in Camden County and Saline County. He received the Missouri Deputy Sheriff of the Year Award in 2011.

Additional survivors include four children, Taylor Higgins of Sweet Springs, Trent Higgins of rural Houstonia,  Ty Higgins and Colt Higgins both of Sweet Springs; one sister, Rebecca Lemoine (Richard) of O’Fallon, MO; two nieces, Keira and Sophia Lemoine; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
