The jury trial for a 38-year-old Brookfield man accused of multiple felony charges after a high-speed pursuit through multiple counties early last year is set for this week.

A police report says on February 11, Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, was on the run from authorities after they attempted to pull him over near Laclede. The pursuit traveled through Livingston, Carroll and Lafayette Counties, then Guilford was stopped and taken into custody in Saline County.

Guilford was wanted for a felony warrant out of Linn County, as well as a Federal Parole Violation warrant.

Guilford is charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt; a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing and Resisting Arrest for a Felony; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.

His two-day Jury Trial scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, at Linn County Circuit Court.
