One more COVID-19-related death was reported in Chariton County on Thursday, January 21.
According to health-department officials, that death raises the county’s total to 18 since the beginning of the pandemic. Also, there were five new positive cases and 13 previously-positive cases deemed recovered. In all, there have been 776 positive cases in the county. Due to 710 recoveries and 18 deaths, there are 48 active cases in the county.
Since its last last update on January 14, 63 new positive cases were added to Lafayette County’s total, increasing the county’s total to 2,069. A full report- including the number of recoveries, number of COVID-19-related deaths and current active cases- was not available.
In Pettis County, the positive case count grew by 59 since Tuesday, January 20, to 4,668. There have been 4,309 recoveries and 68 deaths, leaving 291 active cases in the county, including nine positive patients hospitalized.
According to the Saline County COVID-19 Dashboard, 18 new positive cases were confirmed on Thursday, raising the county’s total to 2,564. With 2,393 previously-positive cases now deemed inactive and 50 deaths, there are 107 active cases in the county.
Howard County’s active case count dropped by five. Three new positive cases raise the county’s total to 999. With eight more recoveries- making that total 961- and five deaths, 33 active cases remain.
