Barbara D. Alewel, 95, of Concordia, MO, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt and Pastor Andrew Lehenbauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Face masks are required, and social distancing will be observed at all services. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born July 17, 1925, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Erwin Flandermeyer and Frances Steimann Flandermeyer. She was a graduate of Concordia High School. On September 20, 1947, she married Warner (Bud) Alewel who preceded her in death on October 12, 1999. She returned to Concordia in 1990, also living in Kansas City, MO, Denver, CO and Fort Worth, TX. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary in Concordia.

Survivors include a son-in-law: John Hamilton of Trenton, MO; two grandchildren, Chad W.R. Hamilton (Raj) and their children, Wesley, Kiran and Luke Hamilton, and Jared Hamilton (Lara) and their children, Ethan and Penelope Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Hamilton; and one brother, Winston Flandermeyer.
