Governor Mike Parson announced in a recent news release that the Missouri National Guard (MONG) will be assisting the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) and other state partners in establishing COVID-19 vaccination sites across the state.
A news release says a mass vaccination team has been assigned to each of Missouri’s nine Highway Patrol regions. In partnership with MONG and DHSS, Bothwell Regional Health Center- in communication with the Pettis County Health Center- will hold an in-person mass vaccination site on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, January 28, 29 and 30 at the MO-AG Theatre on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.
All available appointments are being filled by people who have preregistered, and about 2,200 people are expected to be vaccinated at this event. No walk-in appointments will be available.
Currently, Missouri is vaccinating Phase1A populations and 1B Tier 1 and 2 populations. The Pfizer vaccine will be given at this mass vaccination site. Pfizer’s vaccine was approved for those age 16 and older.
