A 52-year-old Kansas City man is facing felony charges after an alleged high-speed vehicle chase and subsequent foot pursuit in Lafayette County on Friday, January 26.

According to a probable-cause statement, a law-enforcement officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 13, however the driver sped away and turned westbound on I-70. The suspect vehicle traveled at more than 110 miles per hour, and the driver allegedly threw evidence out the window of the vehicle. Spike strips were deployed, and the suspect vehicle wrecked near the 40 mile marker. The driver fled on foot, but was located and apprehended a short time later. Authorities found a handgun at the site and located methamphetamine at the spot where Williams allegedly threw items out the window.

Court documents say bond has been denied, and Glen Williams- who reportedly has been convicted of multiple felonies in the past- is charged with Class D Felonies for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance; and Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest for a Felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution and Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting.

Williams’ initial hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
