With the actual temperature well below zero and wind chills between 20 and 25 below zero, several school districts have notified KMMO they will be closed on Tuesday, February 16.

According to administrators, Bright Beginnings, Prairie View State School and St. Peter’s in Marshall are closed. Also closed are Blackwater; Brunswick R-2; Fayette R-3; E. W. Thompson State School in Sedalia; Gilliam C-4; Glasgow Public, Head Start and St. Mary’s in Glasgow; Hardeman R-10; Hardin-Central; Immanuel Lutheran and Lafayette County C-1 in Higginsville; La Monte; Miami R-1; New Franklin; Northwestern at Mendon; Odessa R-7; Orearville R-4; Otterville; Pettis County R-5 in Houstonia and Hughesville; Pilot Grove C-4 and St. Joseph in Pilot Grove; Sacred Heart in Sedalia; Santa Fe Schools in Alma and Waverly; Slater Public Schools; St. Paul’s Elementary in Concordia; Sweet Springs R-7; and Trinity Lutheran in Alma.

Also closed is State Fair Community College- all campuses- for day and evening classes.

Marshall Public Schools; Henry County R-1 in Windsor; Malta Bend R-5; and Norborne R-8 Schools will be distance learning.
