The Glasgow School Board reviewed quotes provided to the district for the sanding, painting and refinishing of the gym floor and upgrades to the public bathrooms in the gym during its meeting on Wednesday, February 17.
According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, the necessary upgrades to the bathroom are long overdue and will include new stall dividers, new toilets and sinks with hardware, a fresh coat of paint and refinishing the floors. The board tabled the bathroom improvements to allow time to gather additional information.
In order to maintain the hardwood gym floor, it is sanded, repainted and refinished on a rotation schedule. The floor was scheduled to undergo this process last summer, but it was delayed due to budget withholdings and COVID-19 in general. The board approved the maintenance on the gym floor. Charles Luebbert Hardwood Floors was awarded the bid.
In other news, the board approved contract extensions for high school principal Stacey Kottman and elementary principal Miranda White. It also accepted the resignation of paraprofessional Tanya Monnig.
