The bitter cold and snow across the U.S. has impacted COVID-19 vaccine delivery.

According to the Pettis County Health Center, it has rescheduled the clinic scheduled for February 16 to Wednesday, February 24. Anyone with an appointment for February 16, should arrive at the Health Center at the same time on Wednesday.

If you were scheduled for the second dose of Pfizer vaccine on February 18 or 19, you should come to the Health Center at the same time on Thursday or Friday, February 25 or 26. Officials says the vaccine has arrived, so no changes are expected.

Pettis County has now vaccinated 13.6 percent of its population with at least one dose. Vaccination clinics are planned for this week for those who are in Level 1B, Tiers 1 and 2, along with anyone still in Level 1A.

Bothwell Regional Health Center will be scheduling for the large clinics at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. A paper copy of the registration form is available at the hospital, Pettis County Health Center and several churches in the community.

Health officials reiterate that, “Even though vaccine is becoming available, we still need to wear masks, practice social distancing (and) wash our hands. The vaccine protects the person immunized, and the science has not completely determined if an immunized person can spread the virus. We need to reach at least a 75-percent immunization rate to be able to relax these precautions.”
