Saline County Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer says an estimated 17 percent of Saline County’s 22,762 residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at this point.

Brewer says Saline County currently sits eighth in the state as far as the number of first doses. After this week, she says the county should jump up tremendously in second doses because last week’s second-dose clinic that had to be called off due to delivery issues because of wintry weather has been reset for this week. But the county cannot move to the next phase yet.

Brewer says the county has seen a tremendous decline in new daily positive cases of COVID-19, dropping it to a Level 2. However, Brewer says precautions still need to be taken.
