Bids were considered to purchase a vehicle, machinery and a fuel system for the Marshall Municipal Services Department during the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, March 1.
Municipal Services Director Bill Anderson said the city received two bids for the purchase of a half-ton 4×4 pickup truck.
Anderson said the city received three bids for a mini excavator and requested a bid of Martin Equipment Company, of Ashland, for $69,125. He also recommended a bid from Martin Equipment Company for a brush grapple for $8,200. Although councilmen expressed disappointment about the bids not being local, they approved the bids.
Also, Anderson talked about the purchase of a complete fuel system.
This fuel system will be on North Benton Avenue, and Marshall Municipal Utilities will be contributing $85,000 to the purchase price. The council approved the bid.
All of the purchases are for budgeted items.
