A 26-year-old independence man has been charged with a felony for allegedly supplying a controlled substance to another inmate at the Pettis County Jail on March 31.

According to A sheriff’s report, an inmate said he was given some white crystal-like substance by his cellmate, Devin Moeller.

Moeller told a guard that he and the victim had found something in their cell. Moeller said it was either methamphetamine or cocaine. Tossing the cell, the guard located a small clear container, and inside the container was a white crystal-like substance that field tested to be methamphetamine inside a rolled-up mat that was issued to Moeller.

According to court documents, Moeller is charged with a Class D Felony for Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a County Jail.

Moeller’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County circuit Court.
