A 25-year-old Simpsonville, South Carolina, man is facing a drug-related felony charge after a large cache of marijuana and other drug-related items allegedly were found in his vehicle after a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County more than a year ago.

According to a report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, during a probable-cause search of the vehicle on January 17, 2020, concealed inside furniture and cardboard boxes in the vehicle were 256 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana weighing approximately one pound each; three vacuum-sealed packages containing approximately 98 THC oil cartridges; 18 small containers of marijuana; two packages of THC edibles; and a marijuana cigar.

Court documents say Daniel Alzate is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Alzate was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty on April 7. His next hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
