A 23-year-old Sedalia man is facing a felony for allegedly speeding away from an attempted traffic stop in Pettis County on Sunday, April 11.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Harley Davidson, driven by Thomas Lee Meyer Jr., was traveling at 109 miles per hour in a 65 miles-per-hour zone. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, Meyer pulled into a gas station, but then out the other side and back onto U.S. Highway 65. At one point during the pursuit, the motorcycle split between two vehicles at 115 mph on the highway, and the trooper was advised to terminate the pursuit.
Court documents say Meyer is charged with a felony for resisting arrest by fleeing and two driving-related misdemeanors. Meyer posted $25,000 surety bond on April 13.
His initial court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
