Elmer H. Eilers, 88, of Arrow Rock, MO, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with William W. Born November 26, 1932 in Arrow Rock, he was the son of the late Hugo F. Eilers and Emma Bussey Eilers.  Elmer was a graduate of Marshall High School and then earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.  On January 15, 1993 he married Mary Schanz Verts who preceded him in death on December 31, 2008.  Elmer lived in Saline County most of his life and was a lifelong farmer.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Hoffman (Jimmy) of Marshall; two grandchildren, Seth and Lexi Hoffman; one sister, Catherine Eilers of Marshall; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers: George, Ben, August and Marion Eilers; and one sister, Ann Dennis.
