Anthony J. Menefee, 83, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

He was born June 25, 1937 in Sedalia, a son of the late E.W. and Mary Dugan Menefee. On January 27, 1961, he married Almeda J. Middleton, who survives of the home.

Mr. Menefee was raised and educated in Sedalia. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and the University of Central Missouri. Anthony was a dedicated family man and devout Catholic. He was a proud supporter of the Shrine of St Patrick Church in Laurie, MO, Our Lady of the Lake Church in Branson, MO and Sacred Heart Parish of Sedalia, MO. As co-owner and a project manager of W.J. Menefee Construction, he was responsible for many of the major roadways in Missouri and the surrounding states. Tony enjoyed many activities especially a good boat ride with family and friends. He enjoyed a good gin game and was known for a prank or two. After retiring he and his wife of 60 years settled in the Branson area and enjoyed following the growth and accomplishments of his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Also surviving are a son, Steve Menefee of Blue Springs; a daughter, Tina Menefee of Outer Banks, NC; one brother, Jim Menefee; four sisters, Mary Ann Donelson, Elizabeth O’Dowd, Patricia Menefee and Rosie Russell; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Menefee; and three brothers, Bill, John and Terry Menefee.
