Three former Missouri Valley College student-athletes are in Tokyo to represent the United States of America at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. All three are involved in freestyle wrestling, with one competitor and two coaches.

According to a press release, Jacarra Winchester will be competing in her first Olympic Games representing the USA as a member of the women’s wrestling team. Winchester will wrestle at 53kg, with her tournament beginning on Day 12 scheduled to start on the evening of Wednesday, August 4.

Winchester enters the Olympics as the reigning gold medal winner at the Senior World Championships at 55kg, winning that title in September 2019.

Winchester won an individual National championship as a member of the MVC women’s wrestling program in 2015.

Two former Viking wrestlers join Winchester in Tokyo as members of the USA Olympic Wrestling coaching staff. Clarissa Chun is the National Women’s Freestyle Assistant Coach, and Nate Engle is serving as a Personal Coach.
