Knob Noster R-8 Public Schools has been awarded the Lt. Gen. Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award for Exemplary Community Partnership at the 2021 Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) National Training Seminar.

School district officials say the community partnership highlighted for the award is Knob Noster’s new program, Project: PARTNERS.

KNPS and Team Whiteman collaborated in an effort to offer Knob Noster High School students classroom instruction, career exploration and on-the-job supports to prepare them for future competitive employment opportunities.

Students worked as interns in 10-week rotations at Whiteman AFB with their Community-Based Instructor, Brandon Lindquist.
