The Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force brief meeting confirms there are 25 individuals hospitalized at Bothwell as compared to 14 last week. As of Monday, August 9, all the ICU beds are occupied by individuals with COVID-19 and seven are on a ventilator.

Health officials say all inpatients will be tested upon admission. The Department of Health and Senior Service’s (DHSS) website now reports 81 deaths in Pettis County, up from 79 last week.The age range for persons who are hospitalized vary from 34 to 95-years-old. Of the 25 hospitalized patients, four reported being fully vaccinated.

According to a press release, Pettis County has now vaccinated approximately 36 percent of the population with at least one dose. According to the state website, 15,230 Pettis County residents have received one dose and 12,857 are considered fully vaccinated which is approximately 30.4 percent of the population. Pettis County is falling behind the state rate of 49.3 with at least one dose and 42.1 percent fully vaccinated. The state is reporting 60.2 percent of the population over 18 has at least one dose of vaccine and 51.9 percent are fully vaccinated. For Pettis County 47.8 percent of the population 18 or older has at least one dose and 40.8 percent are fully vaccinated.

This week 631 doses of vaccine were given compared to 570 doses of vaccine were given to Pettis County residents last week.

Vaccines are available to residents at AFC Urgent Care, some local pharmacies, at many community events as well as Katy Trail Community Health, Bothwell Regional Health Center and Pettis County Health Center. All vaccines are free.
