The number of active COVID-19 cases is triple digits in Lafayette County.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, as of Monday, August 9, there were 114 active cases, including 21 persons hospitalized, in the county. The positivity rate for tests was 17.18 percent.

In all, there have been 3,036 total positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic. There have been 61 COVID-19-related deaths.

Health department officials urge residents to call (660) 259-4371 to schedule an appointment to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
