A 25-year old St. Louis man who is facing a felony charge after he allegedly displayed a firearm while driving on I-70 on Memorial Day is scheduled to be in court.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper was advised that the driver of a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-70 had displayed a semiautomatic pistol out of the driver’s-side window at the reporting party. The trooper initiated a traffic stop at the 93 mile marker.

When the trooper approached the vehicle, he observed the reported pistol inside the vehicle. Keion Lavon Butler admitted to the trooper that he had, in fact, been involved in a “road rage” incident after he said the driver of another vehicle attempted to run him off the roadway. Butler told the trooper that he did hold the firearm up in the air.

Court documents say Butler is charged with a felony for unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting. Butler posted $7,500 surety bond on July 9.

Butler is scheduled for a hearing at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, at Saline County Circuit Court.
