On July 8, Sedalia Police officers and detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of East Johnson Street, and 53-year-old Pia Carter, of Sedalia, was arrested in connection with reported thefts at Walmart in Sedalia.

Authorities say evidence was obtained that, coupled with the investigation, led to Carter’s arrest.

Court documents say Carter is charged with felonies for first-degree burglary and stealing of $750 or more. Carter posted $10,000 surety bond on July 13.

Carter’s case was bound over to the trial division, and she is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
