The Slater City Council held a discussion about its tree trimming efforts during its meeting on Tuesday, September 7.
City Administrator Gene Griffith says tree trimming is scheduled to start on the west side of Slater.
Griffith explained that trimming trees is what saves most power-lines during the winter months.
In addition to the tree trimming discussion, Griffith announced the resignation of the city’s most recent Animal Control Officer. The City of Slater Animal Service is currently not taking in additional dogs.
In other business, the council accepted a bid for $11,900 from Gary Morrow for the demolition of three houses on Emma Street.
